Full Moon A-U-M Chanting
The Full Moon enhances all types of mystical practices. Chanting the sacred A-U-M mantra at this time can help us tap into our inner wisdom as well as bring inner peace and joy. It can be a powerful experience.
Each month, we hold an A-U-M chanting near the time of the Full Moon. The chanting session is a time to join together and attune ourselves to the Divine through chanting the most sacred of all mantras.
It is held at the American Headquarters in Hollywood, but it has also attracted people from around the world via Zoom, with some even joining when it takes place in the early hours in the morning in their time zone.
Testimonials
“The A-U-M chanting session is a very simple, yet very powerful practice that helps one feel connected to both the self, the Creator, and the group. With the background information provided by Dr. King in his lecture on the topic, the experience is greatly enhanced. There is a definite sacred feel to it, and it’s wonderful to have something so basic and accessible to focus on together as a group, and individually. “

“My experience of chanting the A-U-M was full of joy and connection. It truly felt as if we were singing humans’ first song. It felt as if we were casting a ‘spell’. The A-U-M ‘spell’ a sound, the primordial casting of a positive ‘spell’. It felt as if we were just surfing on the stream of a sound that is always present…”

“I felt at peace and a stronger connection to Terra.”

“This was my first experience doing the A-U-M chant and it felt so natural. I felt a warmth and power from the resonance of our voices. I felt one with the unison of these powerful voices. Not knowing where my voice began and others ended. My mind was filled with love and warmth for those in war torn countries. It seemed our collective intention was to send strength, healing and love to those who need it. As we finished, I saw a violet dancing flame in my mind’s eye, something I have never seen before. It was a beautiful transcendental experience – one I very much look forward to again!”

What’s involved?
We normally chant the A-U-M 108 times, i.e. a full mala, which takes about 30 minutes. (A mala is a prayer necklace commonly used in the East containing 108 beads). After this there is a period of silence for contemplation followed by a group prayer for world peace.
Who can attend?
Anyone who has been initiated into the A-U-M is welcome to join in. You can be initiated into this mantra online by listening to “The A-U-M” by Dr. George King. If you have any questions please email [email protected].
Why chant this mantra?
In his lecture on the A-U-M, Dr. King made the following comments:
“The A-U-M is man’s copy of the great Creative Sound which is sent forth by the Divine Creative Principle in this planetary system, which is the Sun…
“When you start contemplation, and later meditation, you will physically hear this sound vibration…which permeates all things.”
“Occasionally, you do get some psychic interference. The A-U-M is a good protection. And also it is a marvelous protection against your own evil instincts—which do exist—rising up and taking partial control of you. I don’t know of anyone who can sit down and repeat the A-U-M for five or six minutes, and then suddenly jump up and have very, very nasty, evil, greedy thoughts, or thoughts of great jealousy. Because, after the repetition of this wonderful sacred Word, the whole of their vibrations change—and the whole of their being changes.”
